Completed Bachelor, Master and Doctor of Laws from the Lucknow University and a second Master of Laws from the Harvard Law School. Practised as an Advocate at Lucknow for about seven years and for about a year and a half at Delhi. Switched over to full-time teaching in 2004, with a brief stint at MDI Gurgaon. Has been with IIMA since then in the Business Policy Area (Law and Strategy).
Has been the recipient of the first Marti MannariahGurunath Outstanding Teacher Award for the batch of 2011-2013, instituted by Prof. Marti G. Subrahmanyam, Stern School, NYU (PGP 1969, IIMA) in the memory of his father.
Has been the Chairperson of the One Year Post-Graduate Programme in Management for Executives (PGPX), the Chairperson of the Post Graduate Programmme in Public Management and Policy (PGP-PMP), the Chairperson of the Business Policy Area, and Students Exchange Coordinator at IIMA.
Coordinates and conducts Executive Education programmes for the government, and a large number of public and private companies on topics related to infrastructure, legal issues in medical and hospital management.
Teaching and research interests primarily are in the area of business dispute resolution by arbitration. He is the author of three books pertaining to Business, law and Intellectual property in reputed International publishers. Other areas of interest are infrastructure, corporate governance, government and law, intellectual property, and legal issues in medical and hospital management.
